Empower the ChurchWhen the Spirit of God moves in a church, it is important for the church body to keep up. It’s difficult for church leadership who answer the call, and are anointed to serve, to shoulder the burden of an increased harvest. Those who are mature in the church must step up and minister to their brethren, and those who are young Christians must purpose to grow, and become more mature, so that one day they can also step up. The process must continue, so that there are enough mature Christians in the congregation, for discipleship and mentoring new converts. This is how a church thrives and grows, not only physically, but spiritually as well. When we grow, we increase our spiritual availability, and capability to do what God has for each of us. This is what it will take from all of us to turn things around, in the Churches of America.
He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; 15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ, 16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-17 WEBWe must all do what we can to empower the Church. I am as guilty as anyone else, of not stepping up, but you see, I am repenting. Part of growing is to improve how you live, and readdress, what your priorities are. God has a place for each one of us. If you seek God, and are hungry for him, he will surely meet you, and empower you, to fulfill your place in the body of Christ.
Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, that is, Jesus our Lord, 21 equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21 NASBWe all know that it is God who works, and holds the power of change, but it is important to remember that he works through his people. This is a great honor, and blessing for us. It is part of being immersed in relationship with God, and the church. The automatic outflow of that immersion is love. It is that love that leads us away from focusing on our self, and looking to God’s purposes in our time, and in our place.

Searches For Truth
Today during my devotion time I felt drawn to the truth “you were bought with a price.” I wanted to find scripture on the topic, and started a search. I got as far as “bible verses you were,” and here is what came up that other people had searched, all starting with: “Bible verse you were”
bought with a price
made for such a time as this
born for such a time as this
dead in your transgressions
created for a purpose
wonderfully made
once in darkness
knit together
made for great things
I found this list truly inspiring. It blessed me to see that others are searching for truth in the word of God, and that their interests are in line with the purpose of this website, which is to find God’s purpose for each of us, and to surrender our lives to that purpose.
